Following the action filled segments of Luke Chapter Six, Jesus continues making a huge statement throughout the land of Judaea to show that the Lord of the Sabbath is here. Jesus continues to accumulate followers and crosses paths with a Roman Centurion who seeks him out to save his servant. This act alone rocks Jesus to the core as he states, “I have not seen this faith in all of Israel.”

Later, in reference to John the Baptist, Jesus says, “I tell you, out of every man born from the womb, none is greater than John”. This is one of my favorite verses in the Gospels simply because it creates a focal point for what Jesus deems as “respectable” and “worthy”.
